The History of This Shoe

The New Balance 480 was NB’s very first Basketball shoe, ordinally created in Maine, the 480 burst on to the scene in ’83. The legend, Big Game James (James Worthy), 7-time NBA all star champion, dominated the courts with these NB kicks. Thanks to their amazing traction, they were perfect for the super speedy courts of the NBA. Overall, the 480’s laid down the foundation for New Balance basketball shoes making ways for other classics in the 80’s such as the 550s. Today the 480 as found a place as a classic retro shoe in the footwear community loved by many.
