Explore the Nike Metcon
The Nike Metcon is packed with different features, helping you reach your fitness goals. The upper features enhanced breathability thanks to the lighter engineered mesh, which has large perforations, allowing air to flow to keep your feet cool during tough workouts.
To keep you locked in at all times, the Metcon features a Flywire lacing system. This keeps your foot secure and allows you to do rapid side-to-side movements for those demanding runs.
The Nike Metcon 1 was introduced in 2015 as a competitor to other training shoes. The first version of the shoe was minimalistic and featured a rubber heel wedge and a design that was less robust than later models.
The shoe was worn by CrossFit legend Josh Bridges, who put the Metcon through its paces in the Southern California Regionals competition. At this time, the shoe wasn't available to the public, and Bridges was one of the elite athletes who tested it. This public testing by a top athlete helped create anticipation for the Metcon, which officially launched in 2015.
